b'30romPaulandAnneGoldmanCousinFIdontreallyhavemuchmemoryofwhenIdidnotknowDianne.Sheistechnicallymycousinbut,moreimportantly,shewasmyfriendformylifetime.Ourfatherswerebestfriends(andcousins)and,asluckwouldhaveit,thiswaspasseddowntoourgeneration.IhavesomanymemoriesofDiannebutreallyitisherbodyofworkthatresonateswithmethemost.Shewassuchalovingandcaringdaughter,wife,motherandfriend,andwasarolemodeltoallwhoknewher.Diannewasfunny,insightful,warm,kind,andgenerous.Wespentalotoftimetogetheraschildren,butitwasinadulthoodthatourfriendshipreallyblossomed.IwouldvisitDiannewheneverIwasinNYCandwewouldsharemeals,shows,andtime.ItwassuchatreatwhenRussandDiannewouldcometoVermonttovisitandwealwaysvaluedourtimetogether.Wewereatalltheimportanteventsineachotherslivesbecauseshewassuchanintegralpartofmylife.ItwasalwaysspecialtobewithDianneortalktoheronthephone,whichwedidprettyregularlyourwholeadultlife.Diannewassoaccomplishedprofessionallyaswellaspersonally.Shewasanincrediblerolemodelasateacher,communityleader,mom,sister,wife,andfriend.Shewasthereforallofuswheneverweneededavoiceofreasonorjustsomeonetotalkto.IamhavingsuchahardtimegettingmyheadaroundnothavingDiannewithus.Idohavemymemoriesofher,whichwillkeepheraliveinmyheartforever.Itgivesmecomfortknowinghowmuchhappinessshehadandhowmuchshelovedandwaslovedbyherfamilyandfriends.'
